Ms. Nast’s experience includes working with companies in
pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical device and diagnostics
and genomics sector. Her focus is the commercialization of new
medical products and the enhancement of manufacturing and quality
operations. She has led over 50 teams focused on new product commercialization
and has been responsible for the commercial launch of over 200
new medical products. She is a recognized expert in outsourcing
and management of contract manufacturers.
Prior to joining ECG, Ms Nast was Chief Operating Officer at NuGEN
Technologies, Vice President of Device Manufacturing for Nektar
(formerly Inhale Therapeutics), and ran manufacturing plants for
Syva ( a division of Syntex Pharmaceuticals), BioRad and Warner
Lambert. Ms Nast holds an MS in Biochemistry and Medical Technology
from Texas Christian University and is a graduate of the Executive
Business Program at Stanford University.

Ms. Wright’s experience includes working with companies
in the biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics and genomics
sectors. Her focus is process engineering and optimization, validation
and data management systems and commercialization of new medical
products. She has established manufacturing and quality control
processes for new technologies within large companies as well as
small start-ups. She has participated in or led activities leading
to commercial launch of over 100 products.
Prior to joining ECG, Ms Wright was Vice President of Operations
for Cepheid, and ran manufacturing and quality systems operations
for BioRad and Syva (a division of Syntex Pharmaceuticals). She
has extensive project management experience with new product introduction
for all regulatory levels of diagnostic products. Ms Wright holds
a BS in Biology from the University of California at San Diego.

Dr Boardman’s experience spans both large pharmaceutical
organizations as well as startup biotechnology companies. His focus
is the development and commercialization of both drug and drug/device
combination products.
Dr Boardman has been responsible for the development and ultimate
partnership of a number of pharmaceutical products that culminated
in the successful launch and generation of significant product
revenues. He has developed manufacturing and outsourcing strategies
for emerging pharmaceutical companies, as well as identifying in-licensing
opportunities for a number of specialty pharmaceutical companies.
Prior to joining ECG Dr Boardman was Vice President
Operations for Sequential Inc a specialty pharmaceutical company,
and Vice President of Process Development and Manufacturing for
Nektar Therapeutics (formerly Inhale Therapeutics, Inc.)
Before
coming to the US and joining Nektar, Dr Boardman was Managing Director
of CCL Pharmaceuticals, one of the largest contract pharmaceutical
manufacturers in the UK.
Dr. Boardman has also held a variety of senior scientific and management
positions within Fisons Pharmaceuticals (now Sanofi-Aventis), which
encompassed development, technical and operational roles. He holds
a Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Manchester
, an MSc from the University of Leeds and is a Fellow of the Institution
of Chemical Engineers.
Stephen L. Hurst , JD

debt and PIPEs
- Global health policy focused on market-based incentives for
vaccine and drug development
Mr. Hurst has more than twenty year’s experience in the
biopharmaceutical industry, dividing his time between business
and management consulting and a variety of senior executive positions.
Serving as a biopharmaceutical industry expert, he recently advised
the G7/G8 governments on global health policy initiatives.
He was President and CEO of Sequential, Inc., a development-stage
oncology company. Prior to that he was Executive Vice President
at Inhale Therapeutic Systems, Inc., (now Nektar Therapeutics,
Inc.) and held several other key positions, including General Counsel & Secretary,
interim Senior Vice President of Operations, Vice President of
Intellectual Property and Licensing and Head of Business Development.
He was responsible for university-industry relationships as the first
Campus Patent Coordinator at the University of California , San Francisco
and served as legal counsel to the 1990 International AIDS Meeting.
Mr. Hurst worked as a patent attorney specializing in biotechnology
and held a variety of research positions at the Lawrence Berkeley
National Laboratory, Division of Biology and Medicine and the University
of California , San Francisco , Department of Radiation Oncology
and the Brain Tumor Research Center in the fields of radiobiology,
cancer biology, medical physics and biophysics.
